...and then came Castor oil

Hi everyone,
So its been ages since my last Post (I'm soo bad, i know). Its just that I've been trying to cut down on my experimenting with hair products. I like to try out a product for a good long while before i decide if its good for me or not. I also do not like having a lot of products accumulating in my collection. One at a time ladies!!! Being a PJ doesn't really help that much.

Don't get me wrong (and don't attack me if you're a PJ), its good to switch products around from time to time depending on the needs of your hair; but doing that too frequently is not necessarily the best (in my opinion). So i was using my stable oil mixture- which contained coconut oil, olive oil and some tea tree oil (Lawwwwd have mercy, this stuff stinkkkkssss!!). While i stayed with that, i revisited my product research ( on the Internet of course). My hair has been healthy so far, no damages, I've stayed away from heat and all the bad stuff, but after i hit APL, i wasn't making as much progress.

I heard and read a lot of good things about Castor oil. I had heard about it before, but I'm aware of how thick it can be, so i just avoided it (heaven knows i wldda done 10 bottles of Castor oil than one drop of tea tree for all that stinkiness....even though that stuff is so good, i think I'll survive without it since my hair isn't in a bad shape anyways).
So my oil mix was almost out, and i decided to finally give the Castor oil a try. I'm like a little over 6 weeks post and my roots feel like it usually does when I'm 10- 12 weeks- its crazyyy!! ( i pit a pic of my new growth below, not sure it was a good shot tho)

I plan on thinning this oil though, with coconut oil or maybe jojoba or something, but for now, let's see what happens in my next touch up
PS: i stopped using relaxers, and started using texture softeners. I'll let you know my opinions after a few more touch ups for sure!

As always

One Love
